The Real Estate Market in Virginia affects Home Buyers and House Sellers in many different ways. Currently, the Subprime Mortgage Crisis and the $700 Billion Dollar Bailout Bail are affecting it in certain ways. Pretty soon, Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin might have something to do with the industry as well. While she might not affect the region individually, Virginia is still part of the United States. This means that wherever the National Real Estate Market goes, Virginia will go as well. So who is this woman from Alaska that has grabbed national headlines and the Republican ticket? Sarah is the first woman and first Alaskan to be on the Republican ticket. She has spearheaded many policies and taken on people who have challenged her. Many people in Alaska claim that she has left a trail littered across Alaska of those that have challenged her. A former beauty queen, Palin brings with her a perspective that no other Vice Presidential candidate can claim. Many Republicans in Alaska question her roots in her own party. They say that she has sided with the Democrats on many issues and has benefited from their previous efforts. While this may be true, she embodies many of the morals and beliefs that Republicans call their own. For example, she is completely against abortion and same sex marriage. She thinks that there is never an excuse for abortion (even as a result of rape) and she lobbied to prevent health care benefits for same-sex partners. She even believes that creationism should be taught in public schools. This is definitely not the common beliefs that are held in the Democratic Party. Therefore she obviously doesn't let her political party affect what she personally believes. This is actually a great quality to have in any leader. Many people feel that she is not experienced enough to possibly run the country if McCain died. These fears are based on the fact that she is only 44 years old and a relative newcomer to politics. She went from the mayor of a small town to the Governor of the State of Alaska pretty quickly. Then out of nowhere she was picked to be on the Presidential Ticket with John McCain. Sarah Palin has definitely overcome some long odds to be where she is today. In addition to these fears, Sarah Palin has faced scrutiny over some of her actions while she was Governor of Alaska. She tried to get a State Trooper fired after he divorced her sister. Palin claims that it was a result of his vast incompetence at the position. The Trooper claims that it is merely a family feud gone bad. Whichever way you look at it, it's not really relevant to the fate of the country. Overall, Sarah Palin is a dynamic speaker who is not afraid to do what she thinks is right. Our country could definitely do a lot worse for a Vice President if it so happens that her and McCain are elected. Hopefully her enthusiastic appeal for the country will rub off on some others in Washington if she is given the opportunity. So yes her being in office could affect Home Buyers and Home Sellers directly. To what extent no one really knows, only time will tell. |
